One of the world's top non-ferrous metal companies, we are a core part of the JX Group, which brings together Japan's leading providers of energy, resources, and materials. With copper as our main product, our wide range of business areas covers upstream (resource development), midstream (smelting and refining), and downstream (electronic materials, and recycling and environmental services) activities. In each of these areas, we are working hard to strengthen and expand our existing business and to implement growth strategies.

As part of our resource development efforts, we are going forward with highly promising mining projects, among them development of the Caserones copper and molybdenum deposits in Chile. In the smelting and refining field, we are working toward the commercial application of new hydro-metallurgical technologies employing the Nikko Chloride Process for extracting copper and gold from low grade copper concentrates and bio-mining technologies using bacteria. And to meet the urgent needs of ecological concerns, we are engaged in developing and manufacturing electronic materials for use in the next generation of vehicles and solar power systems, as well as promoting the recycling of various non-ferrous metals.
