The Nippon Mining & Metals Group to Integrate Nikko Fuji Electronics
Nikko Fuji Electronics Co., Ltd., (“Nikko Fuji”) a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Mining & Metals Co., Ltd. (“Nippon Mining & Metals”) and a core operating company in the field of precision fabricating business of the Nippon Mining & Metals Group, is slated to be integrated into Nippon Mining & Metals as of April 1, 2010.
Being positioned in the middle of the electronic component industry where the demand fluctuates widely and the competition is fierce, Nikko Fuji paid to date every effort to expand its precision plating and pressing businesses by actively applying its own sophisticated technologies and capabilities to quickly respond to customers. However, due to the serious changes in the world economy triggered by the so-called Lehman Shock last year, the Japanese manufacturers of connecters used in automobiles and electronic gadgets are expected to shift their manufacturing operations to overseas countries at a much faster pace than expected. So that, the Group is pressed to swiftly respond to such changes. And, at the same time, in order to further grow and develop its business, the Group needs, over and above the competitiveness that Nikko Fuji currently enjoys, to enhance its capabilities in developing new technologies and new products quickly responding to the market needs, to strengthen marketing and selling competency to conform to customers’ move of their production to overseas countries, and also to secure financing abilities to materialize these measures
In view of such circumstances, the Group decided to unify its operation system where the precision fabricating business is integrated under Nippon Mining & Metals, for the purpose to leverage its management resources more actively and timely.
The Group is committed to establish a management system having the world’s topmost competitiveness in the precision fabricating business to supply the highest quality precision fabricated products.
