Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New Kakegawa Plant

On February 22, a groundbreaking ceremony was held marking the start of construction work on a new plant of JX Metals Precision Technology (a wholly owned subsidiary of JX Nippon Mining & Metals) in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

The traditional Shinto ritual took place in a tent erected on the site where the plant is to be built, in the presence of JX Group representatives, Kakegawa city officials, and people in charge of the construction project.

Once the construction work is completed and the plant goes into operation, scheduled for April 2013, the company will produce precision materials for electronic components in automotive vehicles.
