H. C. Starck Tantalum & Niobium GmbH (CEO: Masakazu Kanzaki; Head Office: Germany; “HCS TaNb”), a major Group member of JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation (President: Seiichi Murayama; “JX NMM”), announces that it will change its corporate name to TANIOBIS GmbH around July 1, 2020. Each HCS TaNb group company will undergo a similar name change.

 

HCS TaNb is a world-leading manufacturer of tantalum and niobium powders and other products used in capacitors, semiconductor materials, and SAW devices. It carries out business globally in Germany, Thailand, Japan, and the USA. As a member of the JX NMM Group since July 2018, it has been a reliable supplier of high-quality materials matched to customer needs, while pursuing synergy with the technology and knowhow of JX NMM. HCS TaNb, under the new company name and product brand TANIOBIS, is determined to accelerate its offering of innovative solutions centering on advanced tantalum and niobium materials essential to realization of the IoT and AI society.

 

■About the new name TANIOBIS

The TANIOB part of the name comes from the rare metals tantalum and niobium at the core of HCS TaNb business, while the suffix ‘I’ stands for ‘innovative’ and ‘S’ for ‘solutions’. The name expresses the will of the company to play a central role in innovating the future.

 

■About the new logo

Along with the name change, a new logo has been created. This logo expresses the potential of powder processing technology, and the possibilities of diverse powder materials for their application. The “i” in the middle of the name, with its coloration for emphasis, stands for “innovation,” expressing the innovative solutions powder materials are bringing about in many kinds of applications.
