JX Metals Corporation

Announcement of Organizational Changes

JX Metals Corporation (President: Hayashi Yoichi; "the Company") will make the following organizational changes, effective April 1, 2024.

(1) Combine the Crystalline Material Business Promotion Office in the Advanced Technology & Strategy Department, Technology Group with a section from the Marketing Department of the Thin Film Materials Division and upgrade it to the Crystalline Material Business Promotion Department

The field of crystalline materials, such as indium phosphide and cadmium zinc telluride, is expected to grow exponentially in the future as the number of data centers and the volume of mobile communications expand and sensing technology grows increasingly advanced. With that scenario in mind, the Company established the Crystalline Material Business Promotion Office in 2021 and has been working to expand the scale of its business in order to develop the crystalline material field into a next-generation earnings pillar within its Focus Businesses. Currently, the Thin Film Materials Division's Marketing Department is formulating production plans and pursuing marketing for the crystalline material business, but market changes and the technology race are expected to grow increasingly intense going forward, so the Company needs to accelerate the speed of its technology development even further. The Company hopes to swiftly and steadily expand the scale of its crystalline material business by integrating the functions that were previously handled separately by the Promotion Office and the Marketing Department into a new organization and bringing the strategic planning function for the whole crystalline material business under one roof.

(2) Launch Digital Manufacturing Transformation Department within the Technology Group by bringing together the Process and Production Engineering Office in the Advanced Technology & Strategy Department, a section from the IT Department, and simulation staff from the Advanced Technology & Strategy Department, all of which fall under the Technology Group umbrella

As part of its efforts to establish technology-based management, in June 2023 the Company created the Process and Production Engineering Office and set about improving productivity at production sites, encouraging the lateral development and utilization of production technologies from across the Group in order to optimize production processes and improve resultant Groupwide cash flow. In the upcoming organizational change, the Office's functions will be integrated with the data analysis and automation technologies previously managed by the IT Department and the simulation technologies previously managed by the Advanced Technology & Strategy Department and a new Digital Manufacturing Transformation Department will be established. The Company will consolidate the technical resources that the Group has previously cultivated in different individual businesses in one central location in an attempt to promote additional resilience and efficiency in its individual businesses.
